1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing and using Melon Book ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you may not use our Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
2. PAYMENT & BILLING
All purchases of subscriptions and digital products through Melon Book are processed via Paddle, our authorized Merchant of Record. By making a purchase, you agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms and Conditions available at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms
2.1 Subscription Services
Melon Book offers subscription-based access to premium features including:
- Unlimited book reviews
- Ad-free experience
- Author interviews and exclusive content
2.2 Billing Cycle
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You will be charged between 00:00 and 01:00 (UTC) on the day your subscription renews. We will notify you in advance if prices change and obtain your consent before charging the new amount.
2.3 Payment Methods
You agree to provide valid payment information and authorize Paddle to charge your chosen payment method (credit card, debit card, PayPal, or other available methods) for your subscription and applicable taxes.
2.4 Taxes
You are responsible for any applicable sales, use, VAT, GST, or other taxes in your jurisdiction. The amount displayed includes applicable taxes based on your location.
3. REFUND POLICY
All refunds for purchases made through Paddle are handled in accordance with this Refund Policy and Paddle's Buyer Terms.
3.1 14-Day Refund Right (Digital Content)
As a consumer, you have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of completing your transaction and receive a full refund, provided you have not materially benefited from or accessed the digital content (unlimited reviews, author interviews, or other subscription features).
3.2 Refund Request Process
- To request a refund, you must contact Paddle directly through https://paddle.net/support or use the support link in your Paddle receipt email within 14 days of purchase
- Refund requests must include your order information and reason for the refund request
- You are not eligible for a refund if you have already downloaded, streamed, or otherwise acquired the subscription benefits
3.3 Refund Processing
- Refund requests received within 14 days of purchase may be approved at Paddle's sole discretion
- Approved refunds are credited back to your original payment method
- Card refunds typically appear within 3-5 business days
- PayPal refunds typically appear within 48 hours
3.4 Restrictions on Refunds
- No refunds are available for subscriptions after the 14-day window has expired
- Refunds may be refused if there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or manipulative behavior
- Refunds are not available for subscription renewals after the first 14 days
3.5 Sales Tax Refunds
If you paid sales tax and believe you are not subject to tax, you must contact Paddle within 60 days of purchase with a valid sales tax code. Refund requests after 60 days will not be processed.
4. CANCELLATION OF SUBSCRIPTION
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your billing period. To cancel, visit your account settings or contact support.
5. USER RESPONSIBILITIES
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain confidentiality of your account credentials
- Not share your account with unauthorized users
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not use the Service for unlawful or fraudulent purposes
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
All content on Melon Book, including book reviews, author interviews, text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Melon Book or its content providers and is protected by international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or transmit any content without prior written permission.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- Melon Book's liability for any claim related to your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the product
- Melon Book is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations of liability, so this may not apply to you
8. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9. PRICE MODIFICATIONS
Melon Book reserves the right to change subscription prices. You will be notified of price changes and asked to consent before your renewal date. If you do not consent, your subscription will be cancelled.
10. TERMINATION OF ACCESS
Melon Book reserves the right to terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
11. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
Melon Book reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective when posted to the Service. Continued use constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
12. CONTENT RESTRICTIONS
Do not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Infringe intellectual property rights
- Transmit malware or harmful code
- Engage in fraud, harassment, or abuse
- Circumvent security measures

14. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Melon Book regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
16. ACKNOWLEDGMENT
By using Melon Book and making a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Refund Policy.
